Who we are for

Made for families who carry two languages

If one of these sounds like you, you are in the right place. If none do, we will help you find someone who fits.

  • You think in two languages

Spanish, English or both at once. Say it the way it comes: we change languages with you, and nobody corrects your grammar.

  • You live far from a clinic

On a ranch, in a valley or in a small town, a video or phone session is the same session as in the office.

  • Your family comes together

Parents, grown children and partners can share a session when everyone agrees. Children join family sessions with a parent or guardian.

  • When we are not the fit

We do not prescribe medication, write evaluations for a court or see a child alone. We will help you find the right person.

Services

Sessions for one, for two, for the whole family

Each begins with a first session, in Spanish, English or both.

Sessions

  • Individual therapy

Time for you, at your pace, with a clinician who speaks your language.

    50 minutes
  • Couples therapy

Two people talking differently with each other, each with time to speak and to be heard.

    80 minutes
  • Family sessions

The adults of a family working something out together; children join with a parent or guardian.

    80 minutes
  • A call about fit

A short conversation about whether we are the right fit. It is not therapy, an evaluation or an assessment.

    15 minutes

How to join

However far home is, you can be in the room

  • By video

We text or email you a link. It opens in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer.

  • By phone

No internet, or a weak signal? We call you at your appointment time, or you call us.

  • In person, in Aurora

Second floor, parking at the door and a quiet waiting nook.

How fees work

A plain answer to what therapy costs: your fee is given in writing before you start.

  • Insurance we work with

Tender is out of network with insurance plans, so we do not bill your plan. Many plans pay back part of the cost of out-of-network therapy; your plan can tell you whether yours does.

    • We are not enrolled with Medicare or Health First Colorado (Colorado's Medicaid), so we cannot bill them. We will help you find a clinic that does.

  • If you pay yourself

Your fee depends on the clinician and the length of the session, and you get it in writing before you start. A limited number of reduced-fee spots are set aside for people who need them; ask in your first message. We take cards, including HSA and FSA cards. Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a session; we explain the policy in writing.

  • Receipts for reimbursement

Each month we can send you an itemized receipt (a superbill) to send to your plan and ask for reimbursement. It carries a diagnosis code that your plan will see, and a plan may pay back nothing.

  • An estimate in advance

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of the cost before your first session. If a bill is $400 or more above that estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.

  • Checking your benefits

If you would like, we can help you read your plan's out-of-network benefits before you decide. Only your plan can confirm them, and we tell you what we find before your first session.

Questions

What families ask us first

Do you take my insurance?

We are out of network, so we do not bill insurance plans. We can send an itemized receipt for you to send to your plan, and many plans pay back part of the cost. We are not enrolled with Medicare or Health First Colorado.

How much does it cost, and how do fees work?

Your fee depends on the clinician and the length of the session. We give it to you in writing before you start, and a limited number of reduced-fee spots are set aside. The page on how fees work explains the rest.

What happens in the first session?

You and your clinician talk about what brought you to ask for help, how the sessions will work, and where privacy has limits. You decide at the end whether to continue. You can read the whole page on your first session.

Are you licensed where I live?

We are licensed in Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. You need to be in one of those states during a video or phone session. Each clinician's license is listed at the foot of every page.

What do I do in a crisis?

Call or text 988, any time; for Spanish, press 2 or text AYUDA. In an emergency, call 911. This site and our voicemail are not monitored around the clock.

What is confidential, and what are the limits?

We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows. The limits are few: a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, abuse of a child or an older adult, or a court order. We explain them in writing before you begin.
