Couples therapy
Two people, one room, both languages
Couples therapy is for two people who want to talk differently with each other: about money, in-laws, the distance, the silence at dinner. Each of you gets time to speak and to be heard.
Sessions are 80 minutes. If work keeps you in two places, you can both join by video from where you are.

Partners can join from two places by video

The method, the pace and what this is not
The method
We look at the pattern between you rather than at who is to blame. At the first session your clinician names the approach and their training.
The pace
How often you meet is decided together. We do not promise a number of sessions.
What this is not
Couples therapy is not a way to decide who is right. If you are afraid of your partner, tell us before you book: couples sessions may not be safe, and we will talk with you first. The National Domestic Violence Hotline answers in Spanish: call 1-800-799-7233, text START to 88788, or chat at thehotline.org.
Your fee is given in writing before you start.

Three questions about couples therapy
Do we both need to speak the same language?
No. If one of you is more at ease in Spanish and the other in English, sessions can move between the two.
Can one of us join by video?
Yes. One of you can be in the office and one at home, or both of you at home, as long as you are in Colorado, New Mexico or Wyoming.
What if only one of us wants to come?
Then individual therapy may be the right place to start. You can decide later whether your partner joins.
