How fees work
A plain answer to what therapy costs: your fee is given in writing before you start.
Insurance we work with
Tender is out of network with insurance plans, so we do not bill your plan. Many plans pay back part of the cost of out-of-network therapy; your plan can tell you whether yours does.
We are not enrolled with Medicare or Health First Colorado (Colorado's Medicaid), so we cannot bill them. We will help you find a clinic that does.
If you pay yourself
Your fee depends on the clinician and the length of the session, and you get it in writing before you start. A limited number of reduced-fee spots are set aside for people who need them; ask in your first message. We take cards, including HSA and FSA cards. Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a session; we explain the policy in writing.
Receipts for reimbursement
Each month we can send you an itemized receipt (a superbill) to send to your plan and ask for reimbursement. It carries a diagnosis code that your plan will see, and a plan may pay back nothing.
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of the cost before your first session. If a bill is $400 or more above that estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Checking your benefits
If you would like, we can help you read your plan's out-of-network benefits before you decide. Only your plan can confirm them, and we tell you what we find before your first session.
Would you like a written estimate?
Write to us and we will send one before your first session.
